Things You Should Know About Diabetes

Diabetes is a sicknesses of the metabolic system characterized by high blood sugar level (glucose) caused by the body's ability to produce or use insulin decreases. The normal blood glucose level is maintained by this insulin,the hormone produced by pancreas. Insulin is needed to turn glucose and foods into energy.When the body doesn’t have enough insulin it can causes the sugar increasing too high in the blood (hyperglycemia).

The Types Of Diabetes are:

  • IDDM (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus)  or Type I Diabetes
  • NIDDM (Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) or Type II Diabetes
  • Gestational Diabetes
  • Diabetes Insipidus
  • Bronze Diabetes

People with type-1 diabetes must take daily insulin injections to stay alive. Type 1 diabetes accounts for five to 10 percent of diabetes. Causes for type 1 diabetes, which is an autoimmune disease, include environmental factors and genetic. The symptoms are irritability,unusual thirst, frequent urination,unusual weight loss,extreme fatigue or extreme hunger.
Accounted for 90-95% of diabetes is type-2 diabetes, so this is the most common form of the disease. It is depends on, obesity,older age, a history of diabetes heredity,gestational diabetes history,physical inactivity, impaired glucose tolerance, and ethnicity. The symptoms are any of the symptoms for type-1 diabetes, frequent infections,blurred vision recurring skin, gum or bladder infections, cuts or bruises, tingling or numbness in the feet or hands but often people with type 2 diabetes have no symptoms.
Gestational diabetes develops in 2-5% of the pregnancies but disappears when that pregnancy is over.
The Other specific types of diabetes result from surgery,specific genetic syndromes, malnutrition, drugs,infections and other illnesses. Such types of diabetes may account for five percent of all the cases of diabetes.

The people with type-1 treatments are injected insulin, some diabetic food and exercise.
People with Type 2 are commonly treated with stabilizer sugar blood tablet, special diet,exercise, and sometimes requires insulin injections.

But we can reduce the diabetes risks by reduce weight and fat, increase physical activity, avoid smoking, cut down or cut out the alcohol.
